Facility: Helicopter Maintenance Facility
Year: 2017

eurocrete began work on a Canadian helicopter maintenance facility’s floors in 2017. This client required a range of services to improve the appearance and durability of all 52,000 sq. ft. of flooring.

While initially shot-blasting the existing floors, we discovered delaminations in the concrete. If left as they were, the delaminations could have gone on to show further cracks across the entire floor under the weight of the heavy aircrafts and equipment. For safety and long-term durability, we proposed scarifying the floors to fix the issue.

We scarified the floors down ¼” and then reinstated the concrete slab using eurocrete HF at ¼” thickness. Our eurocrete HF is an industrial floor product that has strong resistance to physical wear and a lifespan of over ten years making it ideal for this client. On top of this, we finished the floor with a polyaspartic top coat which doesn’t discolour over time. It is a great choice of floor coating for clients seeking floors that don’t lose their attractive appearance through wear.

Upon completion of this project, a local newspaper visited the facility and was so impressed with the floors they described them as looking like “a gigantic expanse of gleaming white floor tiles”.

While durability and safety are high priorities for most of our clients, these advantages shouldn’t have to be at the expense of appearance. Our years of experience have allowed us to combine a range of products to produce long-lasting floors that look good to the eye.
